Diana Krall – Live at the Montreal Jazz Festival $6.20 Diana Krall: Live at the Montreal Jazz Festival is a portrait of an already-accomplished musician in the process of evolving into a great artist. Always a fine jazz pianist, an expressive singer, and a capable interpreter (mostly of the Great American Songbook), Krall spent little time developing an original voice prior to her marriage to Elvis Costello and her CD The Girl in the Other Room, which… |

Buddy Rich, Live at The 1982 Montreal Jazz Festival [VHS] $24.95 The incredible jazz drummer Buddy Rich was one of the most powerful musicians of his time. That power is on display in this blazing live concert of no-nonsense big band swing filmed at the 1982 Montreal Jazz Festival. The seven tracks on this date highlight Rich’s propulsive, perpetual motion from his drum set, churning out complex polyrhythms on the tracks “Hookin’ It,” “Brush Strokes,” and … |

Miles Davis – Live from the Montreal Jazz Festival [VHS] $3.88 How bad were the 1980s in music? Not even jazz great Miles Davis could escape the black hole. The decade that saw synthesizers and slick approaches ruin pop music somehow caught the master trumpet player’s ear and resulted in one of Davis’s poorest periods. Of course, Davis was lucky to even be alive during the ’80s, surviving sickness and drug abuse, and this hour-long performance, shot duri… |

Gossip in the Grain Ray LaMontagne artist returns to the stage once again in support of their latest studio effort. Surrounded by the dates across the country, singer / Songwriter LaMontagne returns in April for another walk, make some screams and yells of the popular fans from coast to coast. The man, in Nashua, New Hampshire, has a husky voice leading comparisons with Van Morrison and Tim Buckley, to a lesser extent through an unshaven face and flannel. Gossip in the Grain is his third game with RCA and features the talents of the legendary producer and multi-instrumentalist Ethan Johns in the ten tracks. The blows are so effortlessly as a modern twist brings back memories of old school pop melodies with motifs trumpet and a return to The Big Chill. While the lyrics, written by Lamontagne, still represent the growing desire familiar and loneliness of love, optimistic style through instruments funky jazz and folk to its true meaning nearly absolute. Although you may want to pick up a banjo and start jamming with these men, apparently accessible just wait for version of StubHub for the next best thing – Ray LaMontagne tickets to see this indie, jam resistant Reebok peers live on stage.
Walk of the singer begins April 2 in Montclair, New Jersey, and continue through April (specific dates listed below). The album, recorded in Box, England, reflects the new image that seems to be constantly LaMontagne in need of repair (although most would agree is quite appeased). His first effort came in 2006 with RCA (problems) and was followed in 2007 Till the Sun Turns Black. Each and every album, but also focused on the impressive voice This perennial traveler (with the split of her parents, her mother left her six brothers Ray and throughout the country in search of work) is a completely new platform which is studying LaMontagne. Perhaps the most impressive explosive from her latest album are "You are the best" and "Meg White," named by The White Stripes drummer '. "It is time to open a bit wider, not so quietly in the choice of songs I wanted to record", admits LaMontagne in place. The first album is not completely developed by LaMontagne itself, which saw bassist Jennifer Condos and guitarist Eric Heywood assist, while Johns provided their expertise on several instruments. Leona Naess, LaMontagne to open for last fall, provided the backup.
Family LaMontagne was raised in throughout the country, and when he finally finished high school he began working in a shoe factory in Maine. It was only thanks to the "Tree Top Flyer" by Stephen Stills that the artist decided to start making popular music, and before long LaMontagne recorded a ten track demo that came to Jamie Ceretta Chrysalis Music Publishing. As if by magic, the demo was quickly approved and LaMontagne started recording with Johns.
